Getting Started With Payroll

Before getting payroll set up, you’ll need to set a few items.

Step 1: Updating Payroll Settings

  1. Navigate to Payroll Settings: Access the Payroll Settings section from the settings in the dashboard. Payroll settings on the left navigation bar.

  2. Set Pay Period: Define your pay period. This could be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on your organization's needs.

  3. Configure Mileage Rates: If your employees are reimbursed for mileage, set the mileage rates here. This ensures accurate mileage calculations.

  4. Set up adjustment categories: Adjustments are corrections, alterations, or any type of payment outside of the actual job calculations. These categories can be used to differentiate what the adjustment is for.

  5. Save Settings: After configuring the pay period and mileage rates, make sure to save your settings.

Step 2: Setting Financial Information for Employees

You need to start by setting each employees financial information. You can also include or exclude people from the payroll report.

Inspectors

1. Access Inspector Settings: Navigate to the Inspectors section in your settings.

  • Edit Financial Details: For each inspector, update their financial information. This includes setting their commission, any applicable bonuses, and other financial details.

  • Add custom IDs that help you match employees to external payroll platforms.

  • Save Changes: Ensure you save any changes made to the inspector's financial information.

Office Staff

  • Access Office Staff Settings: Go to the Office section under Staff in your settings.

  • Update Financial Information: Similar to inspectors, update the financial details for each office staff member. This includes their salary, bonuses, and any other financial considerations.

  • Add custom IDs that help you match employees to external payroll platforms.

  • Save Changes: Confirm that all changes are saved to avoid any discrepancies.

Step 3: Updating Services

1. Access Services Settings: Go to the Services section in your settings.

2. Set Admin Fees: For each service, define any applicable administrative fees. This helps in calculating the total cost of services provided. Admin fees are removed before the commission split.

3. Define Flat Rates: If your services are paid flat rates instead of a split, ensure these are set correctly.

  1. Save Service Details: After updating the admin fees and flat rates, save the changes to ensure they are applied.
